Privacy policy

What stays on your Mac. Tools, Captures, Files, Windows, Dock and Keep awake run on your Mac. Your documents, images, videos, screenshots and windows are not sent to any server. On-device AI (transcribe, OCR, summarize, translate) uses Apple’s models on the Mac itself.

License. When you activate, the app sends your license key and a random installation identifier to licenses.makemacbetter.com, which checks it with Dodo Payments. We store only a hash of the key and of the identifier together with Dodo’s activation ID, to know which Mac holds the active license. We do not collect hardware fingerprints, computer names or usage data. The app re-checks the license periodically.

Purchase. Payment is processed by Dodo Payments as the seller (Merchant of Record): Dodo collects your name, email, country and payment details, issues the invoice and handles taxes, under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.

Transfer. To pair your phone with your Mac, transfer.makemacbetter.com exchanges technical connection messages (such as network addresses) during the session. Files travel encrypted directly between your devices and are never stored on any server. Signaling messages are not kept after the session.

Website and support. The website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party code. If you email us, we use your address only to reply and keep it for the duration of the conversation and up to one year after.

Processors: Dodo Payments (payments and licenses) and Cloudflare (website, license server and Transfer signaling). Legal basis: performance of the purchase and license contract, and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and keeping the service secure. License data is kept for as long as the license exists.

Your rights. You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability by writing to soporte@makemacbetter.com. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local authority.
