Spaces inside spaces
Every slot can be split again, horizontally or vertically, as deep as you like. Drop on the screen edge and the window sits beside everything else.
Windows · Tiling
Drag a window onto another one’s edge and it docks beside it. Before you let go, a grey ghost window shows exactly where it will land. No overlaps, no wasted gaps.
Interactive simulation
Drag any window in the simulation: the grey ghost shows where it will land. Edge = split; centre = swap (in the app, holding ⌘ makes tabs).
Drag any window: the grey ghost shows where it will land. Edge = split that space; centre = swap; with ⌘ (or “Tab”) = tab.

How it works
Grab any window by its title bar.
It shows the exact slot before you drop.
It docks and the rest share the space.
Tiling
Every slot can be split again, horizontally or vertically, as deep as you like. Drop on the screen edge and the window sits beside everything else.
Drop a window in the middle of another and they trade places.
Hold ⌘ as you drop a window onto another and they share the slot as tabs, with a tab bar on top; drop onto a tab bar to add one more. Click to switch, or ⌃⌥[ and ⌃⌥] from the keyboard. You can turn them off.
Drag the edge between two windows: both change together and the rest stays put. If an app refuses to shrink, Make Mac Better moves the divider so it fits.
⌃⌥+ goes into the part of the tiling you are in, one level at a time, down to the window alone; ⌃⌥- goes back out. ⌃⌥↩ or double-clicking its tab: alone full screen and back.
At the top level, ⌃⌥- opens a map of the tiling: live thumbnails, and just icon and title where a slot is small. Click to go, double-click or pinch to zoom. Save views and open them with ⌃⌥⇧1…9.
Shortcuts
With a Windows keyboard: Ctrl = ⌃, Alt = ⌥, Shift = ⇧, Windows = ⌘. All can be changed in the app.
Not on the same screen: strip or tiling. ⌃⌥M switches instantly.
The window goes back to its slot; it never gets lost.
Its neighbours take the space it leaves.
